Clare V. is looking for an Assistant Product Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist in the development process starting from raw material stage to coordinating sampling needs with domestic and import vendors.  You will be responsible for supporting the team in every aspect to meet seasonal milestone and maintaining integrity of product

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Tracking, receiving, and checking in all packages. Leather skins, color cards, and samples. 
  • Updating material trackers with shipping details and article notes for each season.  
  • Swatching all new development materials and organizing in R&D binders.  
  • Conducting leather testing on new materials and capturing results in material tracker.
  • Assisting product developers with generating SR’s in WFX.
  • Pulling sample materials, correctly labeling, and shipping out to vendors.
  • Address low inventory of sample materials and work with RM manager on reorder and replenishing.
  • Track all pending FDR/ Market sample development on a weekly basis and update team with status.   
  • Create shipment invoices for outgoing packages and updating daily driver log for pick up/ drop offs.
  • Manage and maintain an organized PD material work space in our warehouse.
  • Have a firm understanding of seasonal calendar and how it effect the raw material and development process from start to finish.
  • Managing and fulfilling market sample pull requests and maintaining sample log.
  • Support seasonal cleaning out, organizing, and ticketing of old samples for annual sample sale. Organize and store keeps set in archive library and log into archive database.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.



  • 1-2 years’ experience working in Product Development role for an apparel and/or handbag/accessories company.
  • Experience working with leather
  • Leather handbag development experience preferred.
  • Organized, great communicator and detail oriented.
  • PLM experience required. WFX experience a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities and can work with a strong sense of accuracy and urgency.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding tech packs and bill of material.
