General Overview
The Store Manager operates a profitable and service-minded shop through the successful development of a team that can consistently deliver results. Responsible for various aspects of managing a single store including; managing and coaching store associates and overseeing store operations to achieve sales, service, customer satisfaction and profitability goals. Works closely with the Director of stores to ensure visual merchandising standards are maintained, while providing sales and environmental feedback on a weekly basis. Oversees payroll budget and has additional expenses approved as necessary. Store managers will be taught the skill of monogramming and will learn how to monogram Clare V. merchandise in store as needed. The Store Manager reports to Danielle Felmlee, the Director of Stores.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Strong sense of product knowledge and able to suggestively sell
- Demonstrates extraordinary service by leading by example on the sales floor
- Ability to clientele and understand customer needs
- Be able to drive business by hosting events in store
- Always acts in the best interest of the customer
- Maintains an effective clientele list and wait list with consistent relationship management

Development
- Able to identify talent, develop and retain a well-rounded staff
- Effectively manage, motivate and monitor a sales team on best practice selling skills
- Can self-assess and make adjustments when needed
- Receptive to performance feedback
- Trains new sales team members and holds the sales team accountable to Clare V. standards
Communication
- Engages the store team in a manner that is respectful and professional
- Provides product knowledge and vendor information on new arrivals to the retail team Provides constructive feedback to the sales staff
- Responds well to feedback from management and follows directives
- Keeps the team informed of store goals and overall store performance in morning meetings
- Works closely with the staff to troubleshoot customer issues
- Notifies Director of Stores of staff concerns and presents proper and timely solutions

Weekly
- Arrives on time and is floor ready
- Oversees staff in researching of brand to contribute product knowledge during daily staff meetings
- Comply with in store/product cycle counts on a timely and accurate basis
- Professional phone presence when calling clients
- Maintains a visually enticing store that is neat, clean, and organized and addresses facility issues promptly
- Responds promptly to emails
- Receive and process merchandise
- Handles transfers and return of merchandise to other vendors
- Handles in store markdowns and promos
- Handles weekly bank deposits and oversees petty cash log and deposit log
General
- Understanding of surrounding retail competition
- Abides by Clare V. policies and procedures
- Prioritizes workload to maximize efficiency and minimize the impact on customer experience

Qualifications / Skills:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and sufficient work experience
- 2+ years retail management experience and at least 1 year in “Luxury Retail” and/or “High End” service.
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in order to relay product knowledge and services
- Ability to perform effective selling techniques to achieve sale and repeat business
- Basic computer skills
- Effective management skills
- Physical requirements: lift /carry/move 40 lbs. minimum including fixtures and product Ability to work a flexible schedule including blackout periods of holidays, inventory, and especially weekends (must work Saturdays)
- Ability to actively supervise the sales floor
