We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled Head of Planning to join our team and lead the Planning department. This role is preferably onsite, with flexibility to work 3 days/week at the Studio and 2 days/week from home office.

Position Responsibilities
Create and manage Sales Plans – weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual - in collaboration with the Company President and Head of Accounting. Communicate plans to Store and Ecommerce teams at least one week prior to the month’s start. Re-forecast sales plans on a monthly basis based on trend.

Create detailed Sales Plans for major CV events including bi annual end of season sale, BF/CM, Sample Sale and Fine Jewelry Trunk shows.

Recommend strategies to achieve sales plans in season – partner with Marketing & other cross functional partners as needed.

Manage all aspects of the Open-to-Buy – managing sales projections by category along with receipts & inventory.

Work with Merchants to manage the OTB based on planned and actualized sales and monthly ending inventory targets. Provide seasonal purchases plans to Merchandising for fashion goods. Ensure final buys are within the budgets provided.

Lead team in defining the Core/Seasonal Core assortment in partnership with Design and Merchandising; project core buys based on trends & strategy.

Work with Merchandising to ensure seasonal buys for both retail & wholesale achieve company financial plans/budgets from both a sales and margin perspective.

Partner with Production to pass off all buys & and work with the Production team to adjust receipts as needed for the OTB.

Work in partnership with the PD, Production & Finance teams to ensure costing information is accurate/up to date for margin analyses.

Partner with Merchandising in creating post-mortem analyses; communicate opportunities for chase across all functional groups.

Lead the Planning team through analysis of historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to the business.

Work with the Wholesale team to manage bookings & projections to achieve yearly goals.

Create monthly inventory flow tied to unit & $ sales plan – by month for quarter – in conjunction with Merchandising & Warehouse teams.

Participate in cross-functional initiatives to develop processes and systems to support forecasting, replenishment, and allocations.

Work with Allocator, Merch team & Retail Teams on event assortments and allocation strategy.

Coach the Planning and Allocation team on a regular basis. Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of relevant planning experience; minimum of four years’ experience managing a team
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and a resourceful approach to problem solving
  • Team player willing to lead and work collaboratively
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Retail Math
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Organizational Structure 

  • Manages, trains, motivates a team of 3, including 2 Planners and an Allocator
