Maman Je T'aime

Moms - what would we do without them? Mother's Day is right around the corner (May 10, cough cough) and I thought it was just the right time to direct the spotlight on some of our favorite moms, who we sell and are lucky to work with. I count all of these wonderful women as close friends and am grateful that they've become part of the CV family. Such beautiful and wise words. unnamed Name: Heather Taylor, Owner Heather Taylor Home Q: What's your favorite part about being a mom? A: Falling in love with Scarlett. I love singing her to sleep at night and cuddling with her when she wakes up. We have a routine where she watches me get ready in the morning, and I tell her every detail of my skincare, hair and makeup routine. She is so focused and seems to be really paying attention - it's adorable and gratifying to know that she is watching me so closely. Q: What advice would you give to fellow moms? A: It's the advice I'm always telling myself: Be in the moment, be gentle with yourself, and listen to your instincts. And worry less. Q: What are you looking forward to doing - and receiving - this Mother's Day? A: I'm looking forward to breakfast in bed with Scarlett followed by afternoon tea at the Peninsula in Beverly Hills with my mom. I would love to receive lilacs from Hollyflora and one of Maya Brenner's initial bracelets (S, of course). unnamed-2 Name: Maya Brenner, Owner of Maya Brenner Designs Q: What's your favorite part about being a mom? A: The hugs, and getting to smell the top of my kids' heads. Q: What advice would you give to fellow moms? A: Take time for yourself to refuel. It actually makes you a better mom when you give yourself a break - just like the airplane oxygen mask metaphor of putting your mask on first before you try to help your kids with theirs. Also, a warm shower makes you feel like you can do anything! Q: What are you looking forward to doing - and receiving - this Mother's Day? A: Since I'm a jewelry designer, and pretty specific about things, it's hard to shop for me. But I would love breakfast in bed, a massage later in the day, and a lovely dinner that hopefully involves French cuisine. unnamed-1 Name: Jeana Sohn, Photographer Q: What's your favorite part about being a mom? A: It's so hard to answer that question. I love everything about being a mom. The fact that I have a new purpose in life, kisses and hugs from my boy, the smell of his neck, watching him grow and learn, having so much of a bigger heart and love than before, understanding my mom more... Q: What advice would you give to fellow moms? A: I think we often forget about ourselves, but it's so important to have a good amount of "me time" and take care of ourselves, too. Q: What are you looking forward to doing - and receiving - this Mother's Day? A: Nothing special. My son and I go to the farmer's market every Sunday morning. We'll pick up some pretty flowers and cookies and cook some yummy fish dinner. :) Pick up some gifts for your mama - or the loveliest lady in your life from our Mother's Day Shop - and come back next week when I talk to more of the moms we love.  xcv
