Job Description: Assistant Store Manager, Brentwood
Reports to: Santa Monica store manager
Location: Brentwood Clare V. store

Overview:
The assistant store manager assists in operating a profitable and service minded shop by serving customers and accurately recording all sales, as well as through merchandising responsibilities such as stocking, pricing and keeping the store neat, clean, and organized. They support the operation of a profitable business through successful floor supervision and are capable of leading other staff, opening and closing shop responsibilities, and following through with policy and various processes. The ASM is responsible for working closely with the Santa Monica store manager in overseeing staff and store operations, to achieve sales, service, customer satisfaction and profitability goals. The ASM will be mentored in the areas of reporting, coaching, and outreach, and event planning, and will use Endear for clienteling. The assistant store manager in Brentwood reports directly to the Santa Monica Store manager.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Customer Service 

  • Ability to clientele and understand the customers needs
  • Be able to drive business through reacting to customers’ needs and wants
  • Always act in the best interest of the customer
  • Maintains an effective clientele list and wait list
  • Strong sense of product knowledge and able to suggestively sell

Development

  • Able to assist in training and developing staff, while guiding sales team to Clare V. standards 
  • Effectively motivate and monitor a sales team on best practice selling skills
  • Can self-assess and make adjustments when needed
  • Receptive to performance feedback

Produces Results

  • Able to demonstrate shop ownership
  • Understands surrounding community and suggest ideas for driving business and comp-ing LY sales, including outreach within the community (mentored by area manager)
  • Effectively implements policy & procedure and manages daily operations with efficiency in mind
  • Successfully completes spot checks and cycle counts to manage inventory effectively
  • Assists in performing inventory transfers, RTVs and damages as instructed by store manager and/or per Planning team direction
  • Manages a visually enticing store that is neat, clean, and organized
  • Learns the skill of gold foil monogramming and is capable of training others in this skill
  • Provide weekly sales reports on store performance.

Communication

  • Ability to effectively communicate with team and area manager
  • Provides constructive feedback to the shop management and shares business insights
  • Engages the store team in a manner that is respectful and professional
  • Stays up to date with product knowledge, vendor information, and new arrivals, to provide leadership as needed
  • Works closely with the team to troubleshoot customer issues
  • Notifies Area Manager of staff concerns and presents proper and timely solutions
  • Responds well to feedback from management and follows directives

Qualifications / Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and sufficient work experience
  • 2+ years retail experience
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong eye for fashion
  • Ability to perform effective selling techniques to achieve sale and repeat business
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physical requirements: lift /carry/move 40 lbs. minimum including fixtures and product
  • Ability to open and close a store
  • Able to travel to other stores within the market/region
