Care Guide

Suede, Nappa, and Neptune Patchwork

Our Patchwork leather has panels of Italian Suede, Italian Nappa and Neptune leathers.

Suede is the underside of the leather top grain. It is a heavyweight, luxurious Italian cowhide with a soft, unfinished texture. Drum-dyeing gives our suede its distinctive saturation and softness. The surface is napped and has no seal or finish. Suede becomes increasingly soft and pliable over time.

Nappa is a supple Italian lambskin leather with a fine grain and a super soft hand. Drum-dyeing gives this material its smooth, buttery texture and deep, vibrant color. Nappa leather is porous and over time becomes increasingly soft and pliable. For our Nappa items that are not black, this leather may take on marks over time, especially around the edges. Some of these marks may stay as part of your journey with this item!

Neptune leather has a natural waxed finish and a rich hue that wears well over time. To reduce waste, all parts of the hide are used - slight variations in color and grain are characteristic of the natural leather and will vary from item to item. The inherent beauty of this material will continue to develop over time with use and exposure to light.
