Woven Straw and Veg Leather
Our basket bags are handmade using natural straw fibers, and are sometimes dyed to achieve a color effect. Any variations in color or texture are inherent to the plant's natural fibers.
Our minimally treated, vegetable tanned Italian cowhide is heavyweight and holds its structure. With a very light surface finish, the natural variance, color, and texture of the hide shows through. This leather will darken gently over time, with use and exposure to light, acquiring a lovely patina and enhancing its inherent beauty. Natural oils from your hands will add to its supple quality.
How To Care:
Susceptible to water damage, staining, and color transfer
Handle with care
For veg leather: remove surface dirt by wiping with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid storing in direct sunlight.
For basket: spot clean with a well rung out damp cloth as needed, allowing plenty of time for the straw to dry in a well ventilated area. Keep out of direct sunlight to avoid fading. With dyed straw, color bleeding can occur from wetting.
