Mel spends her days at the Clare V. studio working on Operations for both the studio, as well as, our retail stores. She is a jack of all trades; wether it’s overseeing desk exspansion at the office, installing an office phone system or rolling out a new POS system in stores. She is keepin things organized behind the scenes!
How would you describe your personal style? I feel I have a very basic, easy style. I am drawn most to solid, neutral colors. The best descriptive I would give is a simple, easy, east coast prep vibe. My style hasn’t changed in years. As a kid I would never let anyone pick out my cloths and I kept a calendar of what I wore each day and would never repeat things for at least a month. My poor parents had to support my habits with a hefty allowance, but they benefitted because I always completed my chores. A+!
Where did you get the items you are wearing from? Tell us about your tattoos! My dress is by Steven Alan, my sweater is Isabel Marant (from her sample sale at the Cooper Design building in DTLA) and my sneaks are classic, cozy Keds. I have 4 tattoos on my arms. I got them all at times in my life that I wanted to remember. My first was a star, second was ‘Love Yourself’ in script (such a good reminder for everyone), third I got an arrow on my right arm (signifying intention and direction) and most recent I got a flock of birds. Oh and most important, I can’t forget my recent Clare V. purchase the Gosee Clutch in British Tan. This bag is perfection.
Does your job affect what you wear everyday? Not really, I pretty much wear the same style no matter if I’m at work or hanging on the weekends.
What bag from the spring line are you coveting? From spring I’m loving the Jane bag. She’s so cute and simple and I love that she can be worn on a belt as well. I have two Italian Greyhounds who keep my hands full especially on our weekend outings.
If you could live in any other city what city would it be? Portland, OR!! I spent some time there last summer opening a store with my previous job and fell in love. It’s so green and I love it’s small town charm. I’m hesitant on the weather, nothing is better than LA but I can see myself in Portland at some point in my life.
