We are huge fans of Melissa, her acting skills, and the way she makes our lives brighter in everything she does. And because she’s studied fashion design, she was the perfect fit for this partnership. Her experience and incredible eye meant she was extremely involved in the design process and in every step of the collaboration.
The pieces were designed to bring joy to the modern woman and her modern life. For example, the crossbody Moyen Messenger was designed to fit the modern woman's necessities—for Melissa, that meant an iPad and scripts. It's been a beloved bag of ours and our collection since the beginning and over the years, it's proven to be a staple in many women's wardrobes. So, we were excited to update it for Melissa with beautiful leather striping.
Melissa has amazing style herself and she wanted to make not just a bag and a sweatshirt, but also an accessory to add a touch of flourish to the capsule. She was inspired to design a cravat based on a vintage one she has that she absolutely loves, and that reminds her of Clare V. The design is printed with the French words à la folie meaning "like crazy." We chose this phrase because of a necklace that Melissa wears that speaks to the French version of "he loves me, he loves me not."
